Ekiti Health Commissioner, Health Family Mourns Prof. Adeloye Death

The Ekiti State Ministry of Health and Human Services has commiserated with the family of the renowned
Professor of Neurosurgery, Late Professor Adelola Adeloye on his passage unto the great beyond.
A statement personally signed by the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani described Late Prof Adelola Adeloye as a pioneer Neurosurgeon who bore the torch for Neurosurgery and clinical Neuroscience in Nigeria and Sub Saharan Africa.

Dr Filani stressed that Professor Adeloye was not only a prolific academic neurosurgeon but also a great mentor whose achievements were inspirational noting that the late neurosurgeon also birthed many high achievers in medical practice.

“It’s with deep sense of loss but total gratitude to God for an accomplished well-lived life that I write this tribute on Professor Adelola Adeloye.
His track record in medicine and academia contributed immensely to the development of medical practice and the Nigeria healthcare system”.He said.

The statement further stated that Professor Adeloye was a brilliant educator and visionary leader whose legacy would last for a lifetime.

“When I think of the Professor’s impacts on the careers of countless numbers of people, I’m consoled and grateful for his life and pray that God gives the family, friends and medical society the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of his departure”. The commissioner said.
The Late Professor Adeloye , a native of Ikole-Ekiti was an Alumnus of Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti, the University College Ibadan and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Edinburgh , Scotland.

He was also Emeritus Professor of Neurosurgery of the University of Ibadan.
