Court Arraign Man Over Alleged N100,000 Fraud In Osun
For fraudulently converting the sum of N1000,000 to his personal use, an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife on Thursday, arraigned 23-year-old Ojo Omolayo.
But the Prosecutor, Insp Ona Glory, told the court that the accused allegedly committed the offence sometimes in August, 2018 at Abiri Village via Ile-Ife.
Glory said that the accused fraudulently obtained the sum of #100,000 from one Akinsola Omolayo to purchase land for her under false pretence.
He added that the accused stole the sum of N100,000 from one Akinsola Omolayo by converting the money to his own use.
According to him, the offence contravened sections 390 (9) and 419 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Ben Adirieje, pleaded for the bail of the accused person in most liberal term with the promise that his client would not jump bail, but would provide reliable sureties.
Magistrate Olukunle Owolawi, granted the bail of the accused in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Owolawi added that the sureties must swear to affidavit of means, resides within the court jurisdiction as well as provide three recent passport photographs each as he adjourned until May 6, for hearing.
