Bamidele, Adeyeye Win, As APC Sweeps National Assembly Seats In Ekiti

 Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have cleared all three Senate and six House of Representatives seats in Ekiti State.

In the results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, the APC candidate for Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele polled 94,279  to defeat Barr. Obafemi Adewale of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 48,707 votes.

In Ekiti North Senatorial District, candidate of the APC, Senator Olubunmi Adetumbi, garnered  60,688 votes to defeat the incumbent and PDP, Senator Duro Faseyi , who polled  49, 209 votes.

 Senator Biodun Olujimi of the PDP, who scored 53,741 in the polls lost the seat to the APC candidate, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye who polled 77, 621 votes in Ekiti South Senatorial District contest.

 Prof. Laide Lawal and Prof. Sunday Abayomi Fasina who are the INEC Returning Officers for Ekiti South and North senatorial districts respectively declared the results on Sunday morning.

 Also APC candidates, Hon. Yemi Adaramodu and Olanrewaju Ibrahim were also declared winners of the House of Representatives seats for Ekiti South constituency 1 and Ekiti North constituency II respectively.

 Adaramodu emerged winner with a total number of 41,864 votes against 24,707 voted scored by the PDP candidate, Hon. Segun Adekola.

 Olanrewaju, who is the APC candidate in  Ekiti North constituency II,  polled 29,388 votes to defeat Olusola Omotoso of the PDP who scored 23 ,684 votes.

 Also in Emure/Gbonyin/Ekiti East Federal constituency, APC’s Hon Femi Bamisile polled  votes to defeat beat PDP candidate, Hon Akin Awodumila who scored votes.

 Immediately the news filtered into town, Bamidele, who was in the lower chambers of the National Assembly between 2011 and 2015, in company party supporters stormed Iyin Ekiti to celebrate with the electorate.

 Candidates of APC for Ado/Irepodun /Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Ikole/Oye Federal Constituency and Ijero/Ekiti-West/Efon Federal Constituency were said to be on the lead the results yet to be officially declared by INEC as of the time of filing this report.
