Bauchi Varsity Debunks Fake Admission Letters
The management of Sa’adu Zungur University, Bauchi, has debunked fake admission circulars being circulated in its name.
A statement issued on Saturday by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Auwal Hassan, disclosed that the document, titled “Provisional Letter of Admission into Bauchi State University, Gadau, Bauchi State for the 2025/2026 Session”, was falsely linked to SAZU to mislead unsuspecting applicants.
Hassan clarified that SAZU, Bauchi, is a distinct institution and should not be confused with Bauchi State University, Gadau, stressing that fraudsters are deliberately exploiting the similarity in names to deceive candidates.
“Admission into SAZU is conducted only through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and the University’s official portal. The University has not released any admission letters for the 2025/2026 Academic Session outside the official channels,” Hassan stated.
He further warned that any demand for payments such as “acceptance fees” to unauthorised persons or accounts is fraudulent and must be ignored.
The PRO urged prospective students, parents, and guardians to confirm all admission offers only through JAMB CAPS and the SAZU Admissions Office. He also advised them to report any suspicious communication, letters, or payment requests to the University’s Security Unit or the nearest law enforcement agency.
Hassan revealed that the University management is working with security agencies to track and prosecute those behind the fraudulent activities.
