EPL: Amad Backs Michael Carrick For Permanent Man Utd Job

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has thrown his support behind interim manager Michael Carrick, backing him to take on the role permanently after a strong run of results.

Carrick stepped in as caretaker boss in January following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim and has since overseen an impressive turnaround.

Under his leadership, United have recorded seven wins and just one defeat in 10 matches, reigniting their push for a return to the Champions League after a two-year absence.

The team now needs four wins and a draw from their remaining seven fixtures to secure qualification.

Despite the upturn in form, the club’s hierarchy remains cautious.

They have indicated they will wait until the end of the season before making a final decision on the managerial position.

So far, no formal discussions have been held with alternative candidates, and the pool of available options appears to be shrinking.

As reported by BBC Sport on Tuesday, from the club’s training camp in the Republic of Ireland, Diallo made it clear he believes the solution may already be in place.

“From a personal view, he’s the right man, he has a lot of experience, he understands the club and what it stands for. His relationship with the players is very good, and sometimes that’s exactly what a team needs to get back to where it belongs,” Amad said.

He acknowledged that the final decision does not lie with the players but emphasised the positive atmosphere within the squad.

“It’s not up to us, but we’re really happy to have him,” he added.

Forward Bryan Mbeumo also praised Carrick’s impact, pointing to his communication and familiarity with the club as key strengths.

“We’ve had a really good experience with him,” Mbeumo said. “He knows how to talk to the players and get the best out of us. It’s been easier because he already understands the environment. It’s been great working with him.”

While player endorsements are expected, United’s performances on the pitch suggest a genuine connection between Carrick and his squad—one that could yet influence the club’s decision when the season concludes.
