Children Donate Boreholes, Food Items To Immortalise Mother In Osun
Residents of Ikire, headquarters of Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State have expressed their gratitude to the children of late Mrs Susan Idowu for donating two motorized boreholes water facilities to Ikire.
A community leader, Chief Ademola Adegbola who spoke at the commissioning of the facilities and distribution of food items to no fewer than 300 residents as palliative to to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal noted that late Idowu was a kind and generous woman while alive.
The donors while commissioning the projects disclosed that they used the water projects to immortalise their mother, Susan Idowu who died 50 years ago, noting that water is one natural resource from God to men.
Describing their late mother as a philanthropist per excellence, the children said they were emulating their late mother’s spirit of giving to the needy.
A Nigerian-America-based gospel singer, John Kola-Idowu, who spoke on behalf of Mr Dare Idowu, Pastor Mrs Tutu Morolari, Residence Pastor of Holy Ghost Parish in Rhode Island USA, Deaconess Bolaji’ Lola Adebiyi an Author of the Book– Rescue from The Jaw of Death, Republic of Ireland, said they executed the project to put into practice what mama taught them.
The children therefore urged the residents of the town to make good use of the water projects located in the Sango area of Ikire, reiterating their commitment and dedication to the welfare of the people of Ikireland.
