Cleric Advocates Provision Of Social Security As Panacea To Insecurity In Nigeria
A renown Islamic cleric Sheik, Daood Imran has identified poverty as the root cause of insecurity in Nigeria just as he advocated the provision of Social Security as panacea.
Daood Imran, the Sheik of “The Ameer, Ta’awuni” Islamic organisation who spoke Monday in Iwo, Osun State shortly after he delivered Islamic message to hundreds of Islamic faithful distributed food items and cash gifts to hundreds of people including widows and the less privileged.
The Islamic scholar decried the level of insecurity in Nigeria and pleaded with government at all levels to provide social security for the teaming populace.
He noted that, if this is given priority the spate of criminal acts in the country would reduce drastically affirming that, vision of social security is the best way to tackle challenges of insecurity of any nation.
Sheik Daood Imran disclosed that over four hundred people are being fed free of charge during the ongoing Ramadan period while over one thousand widows, less privileged and the physically challenged are taken care of every month.
He however preached peace among Muslim faithfuls and other religious sects in the country saying that, it is when they live as one that harmony could prevail n the society.
Also speaking at the event, the All progressive party Scribe in the state, Alhaji Rasaq Salinsile pledged that the Organisation would work with Government and Security agencies towards solving Security challenges in the country.
