Nigerians in the Diaspora have a huge role to play in the socio-economic
growth and development of the Country, the Gambia High Commissioner to
Nigerian H.E Amb. Amadou Taal has said.
Taal stated this during a courtesy call to the Chairman/CEO, Nigerians
in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa in Abuja.
that quite a number of them living in the Gambia are extremely
hardworking and integrated themselves into the society.
The Gambian Envoy stressed how important it is to create a strong
communication link between Gambians and Nigerians living in the Diaspora
for social and economic development.
He noted with delight that some Nigerians travel for educational
courses and business enterprises and are excelling in their respective
fields.
Taal, however, commended the NIDCOM Boss for working hard to bridge the
gap between Nigeria and her diasporans “as you are
not here to build walls but bridges”.
The Gambian High Commissioner expressed his desire to participate in the
upcoming Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS), as the opportunity
for investment is not only for Nigerians but Africans at large.
Responding, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who was pleased to receive the
Envoy thanked him for his support and cooperation with the Commission.
The NIDCOM boss said the denominator for both countries are the Human
