Man Docked Over Car Theft In Osun
One Lekan Ayefele (39), on Monday, appeared before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife for alleged stealing of a Mazda Bus.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Osanyintuyi told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov 28, 2020 at about 1:30 pm at Modakeke in Ife East local government Area Office.
Osanyintuyi said that Lekan Ayefele stole one Mazda Bus with Reg No: Osun LES 704 XA with Chasis No: SKPZV104616, white colour, valued N1.2m, property of one Ajayi Adeola.
He added that the offence contravened sections 383 and 390(10a) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the lone-count charge of stealing slammed on him by the police..
The Defence Counsel, Mrs Innocental Akhigbe, applied for the bail of the defendant in most liberal term with the promise that her client would not jump bail, but stand his case.
Magistrate A. A. Adebayo granted the bail of the defendant in the sum of N1 million with one surety in like sum adding that the surety must swear to affidavit of means among other bail conditions as he adjourned until Jan 18, 2021 for mention.
