Reckless Driver Crushes 3 In Ede, Killed By Mob
No fewer than three people were crushed to death Monday evening by a reckless driving student of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun state.
The reckless driver, one Fisayo Olorunfemi a Higher National Diploma HND final year Building Technology Student of the institution was subsequently mobbed on the spot and beaten to death by irate youths.
It was gathered that the deceased who was alleged to be a popular internet fraudster (Yahoo Boy) drove a Toyota car with registration number ‘Lagos, AAA 463 DV’.
His ordeal started when he first hit an okada rider at Oloki junction, killed the okada rider and his passenger and sped off along with two of his friends in the Toyota Camry car.
Concerned youths who felt aggrieved by his dastardly act chased him during which he hit other victims around Eleha, Bepo areas of the town.
While his friends fled the scene of the accident, Fisayo was not lucky as he was beaten to death by angry residents.
After squeezing life out of the young driver, the area was overtaken by men of the Nigeria Police.
The Police in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Folashade Odoro claimed that the remains of two persons who died as a result of the accident has been deposited at Ede General hospital mortuary while further investigation continues.
However, the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede is yet to release an official statement about the development.
