….Extends Tenure of Caretaker Committee By six months.
Following unresolved differences surrounding the election of new leadership for the Fayose Market in Ado Ekiti, the State Government has postponed the election indefinitely and approved the extension of the tenure of the Caretaker Committee running the affairs of the Market by six months.
According to a statement signed by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Mr. M.A. Falua and made available to newsmen, the move was to avert any disruption in market operations by preserving peace and stability within the market.
The statement stressed that the five-member Caretaker Committee which was initially appointed to serve for three months, would now continue in office for an additional six months till 28th November, 2025.
It directed the Committee to develop a widely acceptable and enduring constitution designed to promote the well-being and justice for all stakeholders that will judiciously guide the market’s administration, stressing the need for the team to discharge its duties with transparency, fairness and commitment to peaceful co-existence in the market.
Members of the Caretaker Committee are Adeleye Adekunle Samuel, Chairman; Ikechukwu Eze, Vice Chairman; Olowoyo Moyinoluwa, Secretary; Adejumo Alaba Eunice, Treasurer and Adepoju Mutiu, PRO.
