Players To Watch As New EPL Season Begins

The new English Premier League (EPL) season will unveil new faces when it begins Friday, 16th August with a mouth-watering clash involving Manchester United and Fulham.

While some clubs have been active in the market, some clubs have only gone to the market to get a few players.

These players will be looking forward to plying their trades and living up to the expectations the clubs have invested in them.

Let’s run through the top ten (10) players to watch out for:

Players to watch out for this new EPL Season

  • Daichi Kamada (Crystal Palace)

Kamada had previously won the Europa League with Crystal Palace Oliver Glasbet at Eintrach Frankfurt in 2022 and it’s no surprise joining his former boss now in England.

Kamada has joined the Eagles from Lazio on a free transfer and will look like a great addition.

  • Nikola Milenkovic (Nottingham Forest)

Nottingham Forest have looked to strengthen their defence with the addition of Nikola Milenkovic from Italian outfit Fiorentina.

The Serbian made 264 appearances there and scored 17 goals during that stint.

  • Mathias De Ligt (Manchester United)

De Ligt did not really get his flowers at Juventus after he moved there from Ajax Amsterdam. Now that he has reunited with his former boss who had selection issues at the center back position last season, De Ligt will be hoping for a fresh start.

The Holland defender cost Manchester United a fee of £45million.

  • Niclas Fulkrug (West Ham)

The former Borussia Dortmund man will be a great addition to Julen Lopetegui side which has been very busy in the transfer market.

In the 2023-24 season at the German club, the 31-year-old scored 15 goals in 46 games and finished runner-up in the Champions League. He also scored twice during Germany’s journey to the Euro 2024 quarterfinals, despite not starting a single game.

  • Dean Huijsen (Bournemouth)
  • Bournemouth have also been busy too in the transfer market and one of the players they have been able to snap is former Italian side Juventus defender, Dean Huijsen.

Huijsen joined for £12.8m having spent the second half of the season at Roma.

  • Jake O’Brien (Everton)

Jake will join Everton after experiencing a top-flight bouts of appearances at French side Lyon where he playes 27 games.

At Everton, it will be a fresh start as the youngster did not make a single appearance for Crystal Palace before leaving on loan to Olympique Lyonnaise.

  • Joshua Zirkzee (Manchester United)

In spite of the profile that the former Bologna striker might have ascribed himself, he is a player to watch at Manchester United.

The new number 11 scored 12 goals in 37 appearances for Bologna and will be looking forward to add to that number this season.

  • Savio (Manchester City)

Savio has joined Pep Guardiola’s side Manchester City again having joined Spanish side Girona on loan last season.

The Brazilian starred well there as the team finished third and almost challenged the status quo at the Spanish top-flight.

  • Jean-Clair Todibo (West Ham)

Having been on the radar of Manchester United for a while now, it’s West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui who have finally landed Todibo in England.

The former Barcelona defender is one of Europe’s brightest defenders and enjoyed a nice stint at Nice.

  • Ricardo Calafiori (Arsenal)

In a bid to further strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, Arsenal have gotten their hands on Ricardo Calafiori from Bologna.

For a fee of £42m, Calafiori became one of the world’s most-sought after defenders after joining Bologna last summer for a fee of £3.3m
