Police Get Court’s Nod To Declare Alleged Fleeing Fraud Suspect, Emeka Christian Elobi, Wanted
Justice Ibrahim Ahmad Kala of a Federal High Court, Lagos, has granted the request of the Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) Ikoyi, Lagos, to declared an alleged fleeing fraud suspect, Emeka Christian Elobi wanted, over alleged criminal conspiracy, fraud and obtaining money by false pretence.
Justice kala granted the request following an Exparte motion marked FHC/L/MISC/496/2025, filed and moved by Barrister M. Y. Bello, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), a legal officer at the Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Ikoyi, Lagos.
Barrister Bello had approached the court for “an order that the respondent (Christian Elobi wanted) be declared wanted and placed on the wanted list of the Nigeria Police Special Fraud Unit, 13, Milverton Road Ikoyi, Lagos, he is arrested for Prosecution.
“An order permitting the Publication of the names of the Respondent in the National Daily Newspapers and social Media handles by the Nigeria Police Special Fraud Unit Ikoyi, Lagos for the purpose of fulfilling the requirement of the Order 1 above. And for such further order or further orders as the honourable court may deem fit to make in the circumstances of this case.”
In granting the police request, Justice Kala after listening to Barrister Bello’s submission held that: “upon reading the motion exparte and the Sworn Affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Columbus Aniozor, Nigerian Citizen, attached to Force Criminal Investigation Department, Special Fraud Unit, 13, Milverton Road lkoyi, Lagos State disposed therein.
“And after hearing M. Y. Bello Esq., Chief Superintendent of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit, Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Milverton Lagos State for the Applicant.
“It is hereby order as follows: “that the respondent is hereby declared wanted by the Nigeria Police, Special Fraud Unit, Force Criminal Investigation Department (Force CID), Annex, 13 Milverton Road, Ikoyi Lagos State, in relation to the alleged offence of criminal conspiracy, fraud and obtaining money by false pretence.
“That the Applicant is order to publish the name, Photograph and other particulars of the Respondent through official Channels including their platforms and social medial handles.”
