Grandpa, 76, 3 Others Remanded In Prison For Alleged N6m Theft
Four men including a 76-year old grandpa were Thursday remanded in ilesa prison custody by an Osun Magistrates’ court sitting in Osogbo over alleged stealing and shop breaking.
The accused persons, 76year old Muraina Ishola, Kolapo Usman 21,  Sunday Taiwo 21 and Jimoh Mutiu 39, however pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them after they had agreed to be tried by the court.
The prosecutor, Inspector Jafani Muslim told the Court that the suspects committed the offence on 15th December 2018. at about 9:00am at station road Osogbo, the state capital.
Muslim said that the accused conspired among themselves and committed felony to wit shop breaking and stealing.
He said the accused did break and entered the shop of one Olamide Lawal where they stole cartons of biscuit worth six million naria (#6,000,000:00).
He said, the offence committed contravened section 413 and 414 and punishable under section 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 Vol ii law, of Osun state 2013.
Counsel to the accused persons, Mr Okobe Nagite urged the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal term.
The magistrate Mr A.O Ayilara ordered the accused to be remanded in prison  custody as he adjourned the case till 27th of February 2019.
