Gunmen Kill House Of Rep Member In Ibadan
Member of the Federal House of Representatives from Oyo State, Hon Temitope Olatoye popularly known as ‘Sugar’ was on Saturday afternoon shot dead by unknown gunmen.
He was confirmed dead in the University College Hospital in Ibadan.
Our correspondent learned from a source at the tertiary institution that the politician, who was rushed into the hospital’s emergency section around 5pm and was being attended to in the Resuscitating Room before he was later moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where he was being operated upon before he died.
Olatoye who contested in the National Assembly election in February 23 under the platform of Action Democratic Party (ADP) for Oyo central Senatorial district was rushed to hospital for medical attention.
He was rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the University College Hospital UCH in Ibadan in a bid to save his life before he died in the process.
A source at the UCH told our reporter that ‘Sugar’ was rushed in around 5p.m and he is in critical condition but could not survive the gun shots he incurred in the attack.
As of the time of filing this story the residents of the ancient city of Ibadan has been thrown into a state of mourning as the news of his death filtered into the city.
