Deacon Michael Olarinoye, the brother of the Osun State correspondent of Vanguard Newspaper Otunba Gbenga Olarinoye was on Sunday night kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

The incident according to Gbenga Olarinoye happened at about 9:00pm on Sunday during heavy downpour while driving between Okada and Benin road.
It was gathered that between Okada and Benin road, the six men kidnap gang suddenly stopped Deacon Olarinoye and his family after sporadic gunshots that deflated the tyres of the vehicle in which they were travelling.
The kidnappers then entered the vehicle with them and led them into the bush where they were dispossessed of their valuables.
The wife and the children and junior brother were later released while Deacon Olarinoye was taken to an unknown destination.
Though the matter had been reported at SIB, Benin according to Gbenga Olarinoye, no contact has been established with the kidnappers ever since.
