I Know Nothing About Isaac Adewole Essay Competition- Minister
The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole has disassociated himself from an essay competition purportedly being organised in his name by a fake group under the guise of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
The Minister, in a press statement signed by Kazeem Akintunde, Special Assistant Communication and Strategy to Professor Adewole, quoted the Minister as saying that he was not aware of the competition nor know those organizing it.
“It is allegedly being put together by a fake group of students using my name. It is fake and I know nothing about it. I urge members of the public not to take part in the fake essay competition”, Adewole said.
A group had posted on social media that it is organising an essay competition titled: Professor Isaac Adewole Essay Competition, If I were the Minister of Health.
It was signed by one Adebola Mercy Adeola, Secretary to the National Directorate of Health, NANS.
It stated that the essay competition is open to medical students and the overall winner stands the chance of winning N250,000.
But the Minister denied being part of the competition and urge Nigerian students not to fall for the antics of scammers.
“Investigation by my staff revealed that the National President of NANS, Comrade Aruna Kadir, denied knowledge of the group and disassociated NANS from the said competition” Adewole stated.
“I also did not authorise anybody or group to organise any competition in my name”, the Minister said.
