Ife Territory Suffers Alleged Attack As IDP Send SOS To FG
No fewer than 25,000 Internally Displaced People (IDP) drawn from Ife Tuntun, Olomidudu, K.S and Ologidan communities all in the territory of the Ooni of Ife have sent Save Our Soul (SOS) message to the Federal Government over alleged attack by hoodlums.
Addressing a press conference in Ile-Ife Sunday night, the traditional monarchs of these agrarian communities, Oba Taofeek Adeola Olaposi Osunmakinde, Ayodeji 1, (Obawure of Ife Tuntun); Oba Timothy Adedokun Adeyera, (Ologboru of (Ibehun), Ife)); Oba Michael Adebayo

The monarchs lamented the vandalization and stealing of properties worth N250million, while scores of men who were predominantly farmers were chased out of their farmlands and their wives molested on April 6, 2018.
They added that since the last 44 days, the people living in the communities have been displaced, the once peaceful communities have been desolate while their people have been living in panic and fears for their lives as they are watching thugs occupying the lands that
they have been living in as homes for over 5 decades.
they have been living in as homes for over 5 decades.
The displaced communities appealed to the Federal Government as well as philanthropists to come to the aid of their communities in ensuring that the infrastructure destroyed by the hoodlums were replaced and ensure their return to their farms unmolested.
The monarchs commended the efforts of the police authorities who had in their custody six of the hoodlums but appealed to them to intensify their investigation on the matter.
They equally called on the Inspector General of Police to locate a police post in their community to assist in the protection of lives and properties.
Attempts to reach Mr. Ajilore for his comments before going to the press proved abortive but a source close to him accused the communities of trespassing into a government reserved forest (shasha forest).
But the monarchs debunked the claim, saying their communities are located far away from their communities which they said informed their suspicion of government complicity since no response were given to petitions sent to all the necessary quarters.
