JAMB Extends 2026 Direct Entry Registration Deadline To May 8
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has extended the sale of Direct Entry application forms for the 2026/2027 academic session to May 8, 2026.
The board said the extension from the earlier April 25 deadline was aimed at giving all eligible candidates adequate opportunity to complete their registration and participate in the admission process into tertiary institutions.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the decision is part of efforts to ensure no prospective Direct Entry candidate is left out of the exercise.
The statement read, “As part of measures aimed at ensuring that no Direct Entry prospective candidate is denied the opportunity to access tertiary education in the country, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has extended the sale of Direct Entry application documents to 8th May 2026 from the earlier closing date.”
The board also announced the approval of five additional registration centres across the country to ease pressure in high-demand locations and improve access for applicants.
The new centres include the Centre for Open and Distance Learning, Mini Campus, University of Ilorin, Kwara State; Bells University of Technology, Km 8, Idiroko Road, Ota, Ogun State; Olabisi Onabanjo University Centre 1, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State; Prof. Usman E-Learning Centre, Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, Oyo State; and Human Development Initiatives (Grace House), No. 2 Iwaya, Sabo, opposite Onike Girls Junior High School, Onike, Lagos State.
JAMB noted that the Lagos centre will commence operations on April 30, 2026.
It added that all its offices nationwide, including Professional Registration Centres and Professional Testing Centres, remain open for ongoing Direct Entry registration.
