NIPR Lagos Chapter Mourns Passing Of Marketing Edge Founder, John Ajayi
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos State Chapter, expresses deep sorrow over the passing of Mr. John Ajayi, the esteemed Founder and Publisher of MARKETING EDGE, whose transition has left a profound void in Nigeria’s media and integrated marketing communications industry.
Mr. Ajayi was a distinguished journalist, visionary entrepreneur and one of the most influential voices within the marketing communications ecosystem. Widely recognised as a pioneer of brand journalism in Nigeria, he devoted his life and career to elevating professional standards and promoting excellence, innovation and ethical practice across the communication landscape.
Under his leadership, MARKETING EDGE grew into an authoritative platform for industry analysis, thought leadership and reportage, significantly influencing practitioners, institutions and the broader business community. His passion for the profession extended beyond publishing; he invested deeply in nurturing young talents, amplifying industry achievements and championing conversations that propelled the growth of Nigeria’s marketing communications sector.
The NIPR Lagos Chapter notes with admiration his unwavering commitment to professionalism, discipline and integrity – values that mirror the core principles of our Institute. Commenting on the tragic loss, the Chapter’s chairman, Samuel Ayetutu, PhD, fnipr, frpa acknowledges that Mr. Ajayi’s passing is not only a personal loss to his family and colleagues at MARKETING EDGE but also a significant blow to the national communication ecosystem.
