Judge Remands Man For Failing To Produce Son In Court

A Dei-Dei Grade I Area Court judge, Malam Saminu Suleiman on Monday ordered that a 55-year-old man, Salisu Mohammed be remanded for failing to produce his son, Aminu.

The police charged Mohammed with screening an offender.

Malam Suleiman ordered that the defendant should be remanded in the Nigerian Correctional Service facility in Suleja, Niger until  Aug. 22 for hearing.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Olanipekun Babajide told the court that the complainant, Adeyemo Joseph of  Crown Gold Global Heritage Nigeria limited , reported the matter at the Zuba Police Station on July 17.

Babajide alleged that the defendant stood as a guarantor for his son, Aminu to be employed by the complainant as a driver.

He told the court that the defendant’s son conspired with two others now at large and damaged the complainant’s truck.

The prosecution said all efforts made for the defendant to produce his son failed.

Babajide said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 168 of Penal Code
