The Administrative Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ekiti State, Dr. Muslim Omoleke, who was kidnapped by some gunmen at around Iwaraja in Osun State on Thursday, has been released, The Punch is reporting.
The Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Fimihan Adeoye, confirmed the development to The Punch on Friday in Osogbo during a telephone interview.
Omoleke was abducted along with his driver and son on Thursday evening.
However, his son and driver, alongside the car in which they were traveling, were released by the kidnappers shortly after.
The were believed to have taken Omoleke into the forest in Ijesaland area of Osun State.
Adeoye, however, did not provide details of how Omoleke’s freedom was secured.
The CP simply told The Punch: “I am happy to let you know that the gentleman has been freed and united with his family.”
