Lagos NSCDC Advocates Synergy In Promoting Aviation Security
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command has advocated, synergy, coordination, collaboration and cooperation between the Airport Authorities, security agencies, relevant agencies and passengers as one of the prospective and proactive methods, required to solving the needless security conundrums often identified, with the aviation industry such as; assault, battery, cyber attacks congestion, robbery, bullying, hijack, terrorism and many others .
In view of the above assertion, the Airport Unit of the Lagos State Command, yesterday, Tuesday, 12th August, 2025 held its second ( 2nd ) joint training programme, with the theme; “Enhancing Synergy Amongst Aviation Authorities and Security Agencies in Nigeria’s Airports : The role of NSCDC, Airport Authorities and Security Agencies,” at the Legend Hotel, Lagos Airport, MMIA, Ikeja.
The dialogue had about three ( 3 ) lecture sessions undertaken, by carefully, selected professionals in clear sub – themes such as;
(i) Audits, Training and Compliance : NCAA’S Role in Promoting Joint Security Readiness facilitated, by Mr Amasia Peter General Manager AVSEC.
( ii ) Security Alertness at Airport Facilities for Safer Travels, facilitated, by Mr Anthony Idokogi, fsi, dgm, Chief of Office Security, MMIA, Ikeja.
( ii ) Protection of Lagos Airport as a Critical National Asset of the Nation through Inter – Agency Collaboration .
The training, which aimed to proffer possible lasting solutions that could enhance the peace and security of our Airports, drew participants from FAAN, NCAA, NSCDC, NDLEA, DSS, FRSC, NCS, Nigeria Police Force ( NPF ), NIS, AVSEC, Legend Hotel, Bi – Courtney, NAHCO, and many other relevant services and agencies .
The Lagos State Commandant, Mr Keshinro Adedotun affirmed that the Command will not stop, at ensuring that frantic efforts are made to enhance the safety of the Lagos Airports especially, through unflinching commitment to inter – agency collaboration and professional coordination . He was represented at the event, by Deputy Commandant of Corps Agbetiloye Kolawole, Head of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure ( CNAI ) Department of the Command .
