Magu Arrested In Traffic In Abuja

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, Mr Ibrahim Magu was on Monday arrested in traffic in Abuja and taking to the Aso Rock Villa to appear before a panel probing the activities of the agency.

The panel according to source is said to be sitting at the Banquet Hall wing of the Presidential villa.

Although Magu was said to be on his way to the Force Headquarters, he pleaded with the officers from the FCID who met him to honour a scheduled appointment which was politely turned down.

He was told that the invitation of the panel was more important.

Magu was ushered into the villa around 1.30 pm and was immediately joined by his lawyer, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo

Journalists were however barred from covering the session in the villa.

Magu has been in the news of recent when the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami called on the president to remove Magu due to alleged corruption.
