 National Directorate Of Employment Empowers 40 In Osun
In a bid to combat mass unemployment and facilitate self reliance in Nigeria, the National Directorate of Employment in Osun State has empowered no fewer than forty (40) people in dual programmes.
Speaking at the flag-off  and empowerment of the beneficiaries in production of confectioneries and making of Crochets in Osogbo, the Director General, NDE Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo stressed the commitment of NDE to key into the
New Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
Fikpo who was represented by Osun State Coordinator of NDE, Mr Fakunle Julius, declared that the Directorate is not just a clearing house for the mess unemployment has caused our nation but to ensure that beneficiaries are self reliant.
Organised by the Women Empowerment Branch (WEB) unit of the Small Scale Enterprise department of NDE Osun State, the State WEB Coordinator, Mrs Fabuluje Lydia, commended the efforts of the beneficiaries for their commitment  and also admonished them to make good use of the opportunity provided by the empowerment to become self sufficient.
She noted that the beneficiaries were empowered with provision of necessary facilities as starter pack as well as fund at the conclusion of the programme.
She further said the Women Empowerment Unit is a gender mainstream for the pool of skills notably among women, and aimed at empowering them on micro businesses geared towards self reliance and self sufficiency for income earning as a means of livelihood.
As a dual programme, the 40 beneficiaries are majorly women with twenty (20) participants for each of the programmes.
