Nigeria Decides: Sani Bello Commends INEC
Niger State Governor Alhaji Abubakar Bello on Saturday along with his wife, Dr. Amina Abubakar Bello on Saturday cast their votes at the Presidential and National Assembly elections at Alkali Mustapha polling center in Kontagora.

The governor who arrived the polling station in company of his wife were conducted by the electoral officers in carrying out their civic duties at about 9:10am.

Governor Sani Bello while speaking to newsmen shortly after casting his vote expressed satisfaction on the level of maturity, organization and calmness displayed at the polling center by both electoral officers and the voters.

“I am impressed with the level of maturity and calmness in this polling unit. I hope all other polling centers will be like this”.

Adding that “if other polling units turn out to be like this then their is a great improvement over what we had in the past and it means Nigeria have come of age.

“If the standard is maintained all over the country, very soon we will progress and our elections will come without any controversies,” the governor predicted.

He however noted that the ballot papers were a bit confusing as a result of the number of political parties on the ballot, stressing that uninformed voters may be confused in selecting the party of their choice.

He then advised the people to take their time and be patient to identify the party of their choice.

“One thing I noticed while casting my vote is that the ballot paper is a bit confusing with so many parties on the ballot papers. So if you are not careful you may vote the wrong party of your choice.

“So my advice is for the electorate to take their time, do not rush, be patient, go through the ballot paper carefully and identify the party of their choice”.

Also speaking to newsmen, the wife of the Governor, Dr. Amina Abubakar said that the voting exercise was easy and well organized.

She said that the conduct would allay the fear of the people as repeatedly assured by the Independent National Electoral Commission that their won’t be any problem with the elections .

Former military governor of old Kano State, Colonel Dani Bello was full of praises to the electoral body for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections. “I am highly impressed by the process adopted by INEC for this election. The time spent at the polling center is minimal compared with past elections.

“Our electoral system is improving with what I saw here today and with the news coming to me from within Kontagora, if the process here in my polling station is the same all over, then we are making huge progress as a nation,” the elder statesman noted.
