NSCDC To Deploy 1000 Men For Osun West By-Election
The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, (NSCDC) has said no fewer than 1,000 men would be deploy to ensure a violent and hitch free by-election in the July 8, Osun West Senatorial by-election.
The State Commandant of the corps, Mr. Philip Oyedele who disclosed this Thursday to newsmen during a courtesy visit to the Osun state Correspondents’ chapel of NUJ in Osogbo assured of adequate security of lives and property of the electorate.
Oyedele said necessary security arrangements have been put in place to guarantee an hitch -free electoral process before, during and after the July 8 by-election.
He explained that the Command has put in place necessary intelligence gathering mechanism to nip any security breach in the bud.
The Commandant, while appealing to the electorate to cooperate with security agencies in order to sustain the peaceful atmosphere in the state at all times, enjoined parents to be watchful of their wards and never allow them to be used by politicians.
The Commandant who noted that security of lives and property is a business for all appealed to people to be careful in their dealings so as not to fall prey to criminal elements in the society.
He lauded the state governor, Ogbeni Raid Aregbesola for his support, especially for repairing the command’s operational vehicle.
