OAU Applauds First Lady Over Buses Donation

Management of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State has acknowledged the receipt of fifty (50) buses and thirty (30) tricycles donated to the university by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

A release made available to newsmen in Osogbo by the public relations officer of the university, Abiodun Olarewaju, stated that the gesture to her Alma Mater is a demonstration of the first lady’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, mobility and overall well-being of students, adding that the provision of the vehicles would significantly ease transportation challenges within the campus.

Olarewaju expressed the gratitude of the university authority to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja ll for his pivotal role in facilitating the delivery of the vehicles, stressing that his continued royal support for educational development and student welfare is deeply appreciated.

He noted that while the deployment and full operation of the buses and tricycles have commenced, the management appeal to students and the entire university community to bear with the management regarding any perceived inadequacies in the current operations.

“As with any new system, this initiative is still a work in progress. Necessary adjustments, route optimization, scheduling improvements and operational enhancements are actively being undertaken to ensure efficiency, safety and maximum benefit for all users.

“We assure our students that all concerns raised will be carefully reviewed and accordingly addressed in due course.

Management remains fully committed to delivering a seamless and effective transportation system that meets the needs of the University Community as expected of, and is applicable  to the 21st century Universities around the world”, Olarewaju maintained.
