Man Utd’s Andre Onana Rejoins Trabzonspor On Season-long Loan

Manchester United have confirmed that goalkeeper Andre Onana has rejoined Turkish club Trabzonspor on a season-long loan for the 2026-27 campaign.

According to the BBC, the agreement does not include an option to buy, although Trabzonspor will cover the Cameroon international’s wages in full while also paying Manchester United a loan fee, with additional performance-related bonuses included in the deal.

United said the transfer remains subject to international clearance and registration.

The 30-year-old returns to Trabzonspor after a successful loan spell last season, during which he made 29 appearances and helped the Turkish side win the Turkish Cup for the first time since 2020.

Onana, who joined Manchester United from Inter Milan in a £47.2 million deal in 2023, still has two years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford.

His only appearance for United last season came in the shock EFL Cup defeat to League Two side Grimsby before he was sent out on loan.

The goalkeeper had been expected to report for pre-season training on July 9, but his chances of reclaiming a place in the first team were limited, with Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens firmly established as manager Michael Carrick’s first-choice keeper.

United’s goalkeeping department could see further changes this summer, with backup goalkeeper Altay Bayindir’s future also uncertain, while highly-rated youngster Radek Vitek is reportedly seeking a loan move in search of regular first-team football.
