Osun Governor-Elect Warns Against Recruitment Into Civil Service
Osun State Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke has raised the alarm over alleged plan by the Adegboyega Oyetola administration to massively recruit workers into the state Civil service at the twilight of the disengagement of All Progressives Congress administration in the state.
Speaking shortly after the former Commissioner for Finance in Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s administration, Dr Wale Bolorunduro was formerly received into Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by chieftains of the party at a rally in Ijebu-jesa, Adeleke said such recruitment is unacceptable and will be counter-productive.
Senator Adeleke said the plan to also conduct local government election by the ruling All Progressives Congress will be vehemently resisted adding that the outgoing administration was out to create problems for his government.
He retreated his commitment to fulfill his electoral promises adding that he would not disappoint the people of the state who have magnanimously given him the mandate to govern them.
Speaking, the Caretaker Chairman of the party, Dr. Akindele Adekunle while welcoming Bolorunduro and no fewer than five hundred stalwarts of the ruling APC into PDP said they will enjoy the same rights as old members of the party.
He gave assurance that the party will sweep the polls at the February, 2023 election in the state with PDP controlling the state House of Assembly and winning all the seats at the National Assembly.
Adekunle urged other well-meaning members of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state to join what he described as the true progressives train before it is too late in their best interest.
Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Dr. Bolorunduro said he decided to join the Peoples Democratic Party having realised that the All Progressives Congress has failed to meet the yearnings of the people.
He noted that the moment the Oyetola administration embarked on the destruction of his predecessor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s legacies, he knew that the end has come to progressive administration in the state.
Bolorunduro who pledged his loyalty to the leaders of the party in the state noted that PDP will not regret accommodating them as they are ready to work assiduously for the victory of the party in future elections in the state.
