‘LP Is The Vehicle Of A New Nigeria While Peter Obi Is The Driver’
Osun State capital of the Labour Party has described Labour Party as the vehicle of a new Nigeria while, Peter Obi is the driver.
Addressing newsmen at the unveiling of the party in Ile-Ife on Sunday, the Ile-Ife branch chairman of the party, Olamide Awosunle said the labour party remained the better alternative to the other two parties that have failed to deliver dividend of democracy to Nigerians.
He described the party’s presidential flag bearer, Dr. Peter Obi as a tested and trusted leader endowed with all that is required to solve the security, social and economic problems bedevilling the country.
His words: “Today’s official unveiling of Labour Party in Ile-Ife is to publicly announce to Ife people, Osun people, Nigerians and the entire world that Labour Party is vehicle and Peter Obi is the the driver to the actualisation of a New Nigeria
“It is high time we took courage and a bold step to get our country from the control of dinosaurs that see Nigeria as their heritage and personal belonging.
“The overwhelming rot, corruptions and impunity in our nation has reached its climax, hence the need to all the greedy elite and cabals that have been recycling political position among themselves to leave the stage”.
While calling for people’s participation in electoral process, Awosunle assured Osun electorate that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC now has ability to deliver free, fair, transparent and credible elections considering its performance in the Osun and Ekiti governorship elections.
“It is no more business as usual, INEC has proven with gubernatorial elections in Ekiti and Osun this year that the era of ruffians and crooks occupy and dominate the political and governance spaces through manipulation of the electoral process was over.
“We only need to encourage the masses to desist from falling into voter inducement traps greedy politicians usually set. We need to desist from collecting a token to vote for wrong people. The little money our people usually collect from voting will only solve petty immediate problem, it won’t shield them from the economic woes of the nation. Awosunle posited.
