2023 Elections: Oyetola Directs Political Appointees With Interest To Resign
Osun State Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola has directed all political appointees in the state with interest to contest the 2023 general elections to resign their appointments with immediate effect.
Oyebanji stated that the directive was sequel to the state Executive Council meeting of Wednesday 13th April 2022 and the combined effect of Sections 84 (12) and 29(1) of the Electoral Acts 2022 as well as the Electoral timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Government has through this medium therefore notified political appointees in the state to comply with the directive of the governor and the provision of the Law.
Speaking on the directive, a human rights activist, Comrade Waheed Lawal said the governor did the right thing adding that it was in the interest of the appointees.
Asked if it would affect the political fortune of the governor, one of his Special Advisers, Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji said it will further strengthen it.
