Police Nab Killer Of Ekiti Monarch
The suspected killer of the traditional ruler of Odo Oro in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba Gbadebo Ogunsakin has been arrested by men of Ekiti State Police Command.
The traditional ruler had chaired a meeting which had his chiefs in attendance where matters of community development were said to have been discussed before he was murdered.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Caleb Ikechukwu, told newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday that the suspected killer of the monarch has been apprehended.
Ikechukwu who revealed this to journalists gave the name of the suspect as Omoniyi Ademola Stephen.
Ademola according to the PPRO was arrested around 4.30 pm on Monday around Ajao Market in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
He said: “The suspect has been arrested and he was brought in under investigation.
“He confessed to the act and our investigation continues. The matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for more investigation.”
The police spokesman assured that they will be professional in their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing.
