Polls: Large Crowd Overwhelms INEC Staff In Abuja

 

Large crowd overwhelmed the ad-hoc staff recruited by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the presidential and national assembly elections in many centres in Abuja.

This is as many voters especially those that registered at some centres in Kubwa, an outskirt of Abuja, have complained that their names were missing from the voters list where they registered.

At the Water Board and LEA primary school voting centres in Byazhin, Kubwa, Bwari Area Council, so many voters with the code number 001 lamented the inability to see their names on the lists of eligible voters pasted on the wall.

Though most of them came with their Permanent Voters Card, PVC, they could not vote because they were unable to locate their names.

One of the local observers lamented that some of the political parties sent conversers with money who were secretly soliciting votes. Despite the overwhelming crowd, the exercise has been peaceful in most of the centres in Abuja.

At the State House polling unit, the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari was among those that voted early.
