My Handing Over Note Ready May 28th — Amosun

The outgoing governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun on Monday said a comprehensive handing over note of his administration would be ready for the incoming administration 24 hours before its inauguration by May 29 this year.

Amosun gave the assurance yesterday while hosting the 26-man State Transition Interface Committee at the Conference Room of the Governor’s Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, the governor explained that the 11-man Transition Committee of his administration had being in existence since December 2018, even predating the year 2019 general election that is bringing-in Prince Dapo Abiodun as the next governor of the state.

A 15-man Transition Committee of from the Ogun governor-elect, Dapo Abiodun yesterday visited Amosun in his office as part of measures towards ensuring a peaceful and smooth transition ahead of the May 29 inauguration.

Led by the Deputy Governor-elect, Engineer Noimot Salami, the Dapo Abiodun team arrived the governor’s office around 10: 30 am and was received by Amosun’s deputy, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga who also led the Amosun’s 11-man team to the meeting.

Speaking before the 26-man Transition Interface Committee however, Adeoluwa explained that the outgoing administration had tidy up things at the Governor House located at Oke-Igbehin, Abeokuta as well as the Presidential lounge within the Ibara G.R.A Housing Estate, Abeokuta have been renovated, ready for inspection and possible takeover by the incoming Dapo Abiodun’s administration.

Fielding questions from journalists shortly after a group photograph, leader of the Dapo Abiodun’s team, Salako expressed satisfaction at the level of the cooperation which her team has always received from the outgoing administration of Ibikunle Amos.

Salako explained that her team and that of the outgoing government had been working towards ensuring smooth transition for a while and it was evident that the Ibikunle Amosun led administration was “quite prepared” for the exercise.
