Oyo Local Hunters Kill Three Alleged Bank Robbers

 

Three armed robbers Wednesday met their waterloo in Okeho, Kajola Local Council of Oyo State as they were killed by local hunters.

The armed robbers, who attacked one of the new generational banks, were killed by the local hunters while angry mob set three of them ablaze.

A source said: “Another sad incident happened in Oke-Ogun as armed bandits struck in Okeho. They forcefully attacked a bank in that town, injuring a number of people. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) was seriously wounded. He and other victims are being treated in the hospitals there.

“Luckily, the bandits did not escape as they were caught by gallant vigilante corps members assisted by the police.

National President and Founder of SHN and Ogboju Ode Asoluderu, Oba Nureni Ajijola-Anabi, said his men killed the robbers.

Oyo State Police Command also said the arrest of the robbers was done in conjunction with vigilance group members and hunters.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, in a statement said: “The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu, wishes to state that on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at about 16.58 hours, there was a bank robbery in which daredevil armed bandits who came with a white 18-seater bus invaded a bank in Okeho, Kajola Local Council of Oyo State with intent to rob.

“The robbery, which was responded to by the police tactical teams and with collaborative efforts of the vigilantes and hunters, yielded results.

“Consequent upon this, three of the robbers were arrested when the 18-seater bus had an accident and somersaulted and thereafter were set ablaze by the angry mob when they attempted to escape the scene of the accident.”
