Salesman Jailed For Unlawful Dealing In Marijuana
A Federal High Court, Lagos, has convicted 42 year-old salesman, Sabinus Dike, for dealing unlawfully in 1.62 Kilograms of cannabis sativa, also known as marijuana.
NDLEA in the charge numbered FHC/L/774c/2025, stated that the convict was arrested with the cannabis Sativa on August 13, 2025, at the Lagos Trade Fair market.
 
The convict pleaded guilty to the charge.
Based on his plea, the prosecutor reviewed the facts of the charge.
Upon reviewing the facts of the charge, and admitting the exhibits, the judge, sentences the convict to a year imprisonment.
The judge however ordered him to pay the sum of N1 million, as fine option in lieu of the custodian sentence.
The charge Against the convict reads: “that you, Sabinus Dike, Male, 42 years old on or about the 13th day of August 2025, at Trade Fair Market, Ojo, Lagos State within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court without lawful authority dealt in 1.63 Kilogrammes of Cannabis Sativa, a narcotic drug and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 11(c) of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act Cap N30 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.”
