Sen Smart Adeyemi Defeats Melaye, Wins Kogi West Rerun
Sen. Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressive Congress, APC has won the Kogi West supplementary election, defeating his closest rival Senator Dino Melaye of the PDP.
He polled 88,373 votes against Melaye who got 62,133 votes.
The result was declared last night by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC at the end of a supplementary poll that was declared inconclusive by INEC two weeks ago.
The Supplementary poll was fixed for Saturday November 30, after the people of the senatorial district first went to the poll.
