It’s Daddy That Pays For Everything, Son, Mother Clash
A viral video capturing a heated argument between a mother and her son has sparked intense reactions on social media.
The clip, shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, January 7 by user dammiedammie35, shows the son confronting his mother over failure to contribute financially to the household, particularly in paying school fees.
In the video, the son was seen confronting his mother over her inability to contribute financially in the house saying, “I don’t blame you, it’s because daddy travelled that’s why you are doing this rubbish. Have you ever paid school fees for anybody in this house? You have never contributed shishi, it’s daddy that pays for everything”
The confrontation escalated in the footage as the son repeatedly questioned his mother, asking, “Are you the one paying the school fees? Have you paid any school fees for anybody here? to which the mother answered , “I have not.”
He further said the mum only paid for his school fees once. “It’s only once you have ever paid my school fees.”
At some point during the argument, another voice was heard saying that the woman use to pay for practical. “Mum, shebi you used to pay for my practical,” the person said.
However, the son dismissed the claim, insisting that the school covered such expenses.
The mother later told him that he will see himself on the internet. “You see yourself for internet.” which he replied “put me now, what concern me”
The exchange ended without resolution, leaving viewers divided over parental responsibility, accountability, and financial expectations within families.
Since the video surfaced, Nigerians on social media have expressed mixed reactions, with some supporting the mother’s stance while others criticised the son’s behaviour towards the mother.
