Sri Lanka’s PM Sworn In As Acting President
Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe, was sworn in Friday as acting president, his office said, replacing Gotabaya Rajapaksa who fled to Singapore following months of protest against him.
It is still not yet whether his swearing-in will douse tension in the country.
Sri Lanka has been in severe economic crisis with fuel stations running out of fuel and other essential communities out of supermarket shelves.
