The Rope Of Hope (Living Your Life With Dr Abdulfattah Adeyemi)

As a star pupil in “the school of life” you must have learnt by now, that there are some situations that defile explanations.

And sometimes, the more you try to figure things out, the more perplexed you become. How many times have things happen that you never planned for?

How many times have you found yourself in circumstances that you never imagined you could be in? Is it new to you that some conditions can make a lion to eat cooked beans? Accidents happen, things crop up, and matters arise.

There are even some problems that solving them involve getting into greater problems: how would you make three people stand in twos?

You could be wondering how your life got so tough and rough. Sometimes you feel so weak mentally. You seem drained off inspirations. Where have all those great ideas gone to? When will life get better? Why is it that everything seems to be going wrong? How did a shark get into a gutter? Even the scriptural Joseph has since been rescued from the well into which his brothers dumped him. Why are you still in this pitiful pit?

Remember that you are not the first to feel humiliated by life: imagine a crocodile being treated like a common lizard. What an embarrassment! So many great individuals, families and nations have gone through tough times like these before. What then should you do? Find hope. Have hope.

To have hope is to confidently expect positive outcomes of your circumstances. With hope life’s countless frustrations will not deter you from striding forward towards your pursuits. It is essential for keeping your dreams upright. Hope might not push, but it will pull you like magnet towards your success.

When we lose hope, we are like a feather being tossed about in the wind of life without direction. Hope stays and stands when your world crumbles. Hope gives meaning in a world that does not make sense. Hope is the light in a world of darkness.  Hope is the comfort for the disturbed, the sight for the blind, the voice for the mute and the sound for the deaf. Hope heals and cures, it soothes and coaxes like a mother pacifies her baby.

The point to note is, when you seem to have a hopeless reality, ensure to have a hopeful mentality. When life is getting you down, and you seem stuck in your piteous hole, look deep down into your soul, and you will find hope. Hold on to it. With it you shall find the strength to cope. A butterfly was a caterpillar that did not let go of the silky rope of hope.
