Two Injured As Trailer Rams Into CBN Building In Jos

A trailer rammed into Central Bank of Nigeria building in Jos ,Plateau state on Thursday leaving two persons injured .

It was gathered that the injured persons were all occupants of the articulated vehicle including the driver .

An eye witness said the articulated vehicle loaded with fertilizer was heading towards the road leading to the CBN when it lost control at the roundabouts infront of the apex bank and crashed into the building.

The witness said ” It was around 2:am on Thursday when we heard a loud noise around CBN. My house is just close to the CBN building .

“So, when we came out to know what was happening ,we saw that it was an accident involving a trailer which ran into the CBN building destroying the fence .It took more than six hours before the driver and another person who were trapped under the wreckage were rescued .”

The Plateau State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps , Alphonsus Godwin confirmed the accident in Jos on Thursday .

The Sector Commander said ” When I heard of it in the morning , I immediately send my team to the place and they did the rescue operation . I was also there .It was a lone crash. Nobody died. There were three occupants .Two sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital but one of them did not sustain any wound. It’s so amazing ”
