Umahi Declares Wednesday Public Holiday To Mourn Commissioners

The Ebonyi State Governor Engineer David Umahi,  has confirmed the death of  Commissioner for Infrastructure for Concession, Engineer Fidelis Nweze,  and Engineer Uche Okah. Both died in a ghastly motor accident on Tuesday

The Governor has also declared Wednesday a Public Holiday in Honour of the departed former members of the State Executive Council.

The affected former Exco members are Engineer Fidelis Nweze, former Commissioner for Infrastructure for Concession and Engineer Uche Okah, former Commissioner for Housing.

Consequently, the Governor has directed that all offices and markets should be closed while all flags are to fly at half-mast on Wednesday, June 23rd 2021 across the State.

The Governor further directed all Government officials to proceed on fasting to seek the face of God in the Affairs of the State while CAN is charged to organize Prayers to break the fast by 4pm at Christian Ecumenical Centre every day, starting from Wednesday, June 23 to Saturday, June 26, 2021.

However, Governor said all the Government officials are enjoined to participate in the activities.

The Governor prays for the peaceful repose of the souls of the fallen former Exco members.
