UNIZIK Students Sent Out Of Campus For Violating ‘Signing Off’ Ban
Tension broke out at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, on Thursday after the institution moved to enforce its ban on the popular post-examination “signing off” tradition among final-year students.
In a video shared by Facebook user, Okwa C. Ifugo, two yet-to-be-identified female students were sent out of the campus building premises for wearing shirts scribbled with markers.
The university management had, on Tuesday, announced a ban on the activity in a directive signed by the Registrar, Dr. Chinenye Okeke.
The circular described the practice as one that often leads to chaos, violence, and disruption of normal academic activities.
