One Year After, Tochi Wigwe Pens Emotional Tribute To Parents, Brother
One year after she lost her parents and elder brother, Otutochi Wigwe, daughter of the late banker and Access Bank GCEO, Herbert Wigwe, has revealed that she is embracing the strength to become a solid foundation for her younger siblings.
She disclosed this in an emotional tribute at one year remembrance of her parents and brother.
“It has been a year since I lost the three greatest pillars in my life: my father, mother and brother”, Otutochi said. “In the last 12 months, I’ve lived through a lifetime of emotions: laughter, anger, and sadness. “I’ve grappled with the challenge of finding my way back to happiness, rediscovering who I am, and embracing the strength I need to become a solid foundation for my younger siblings.” The parents and brother passed away in a helicopter crash in the United States (US) in 2024. They were on their way from Palm Springs International Airport to Boulder City, Nevada on a charter flight operated by Orbic Air to attend the Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas. They were buried in Isiokpo, Rivers State, on March 9, 2024 after a week-long wake in Lagos that was attended by many dignitaries. On Sunday, February 9, 2025, friends, associates and well-wishers commemorated the first year memorial service and dinner reception in remembrance of the deceased persons: Herbert Wigwe, wife, Chizoba, and son, Chizi.
