W’World Cup: Tinubu Foresees Victory As Super Falcons Face Australia

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday in Abuja extended his best wishes to the Super Falcons as they prepare to face Australia in their second group match at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023.

“He firmly believes that the upcoming match on Thursday will be a thrilling encounter that will culminate in victory for the Nigerian team,” a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, Dele Alake, revealed on Wednesday.

The statement is titled ‘Message to Super Falcons at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.’

Following a goalless draw against Canada, the Super Falcons will face co-host nation Australia in their second Group B match at the Lang Park Stadium on Thursday, July 27, at 11 a.m. (Nigeria time).

The Matildas of Australia currently top the group with three points, with Nigeria and Canada on one point apiece.

The Aussies defeated the Nigerian women when both teams met at the 2015 edition of the competition.

However, the nine-time African champions and their millions of fans expect victory in Thursday’s encounter.
