You’re Heating Up The Polity, Ex-CBN Deputy Governor Tells Buhari, Obasanjo

Former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Kingsley Ayodele Moghalu has warned politicians and leaders against hitting the polity, saying they are currently heating up the polity by their utterances.

Moghalu, who is presidential aspirant in the 2019 general election advised President Muhammadu Buhari and the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to be cautious and mindful of their utterances so that the country would not be set on fire.

The presidential aspirant on the platform of Young Progressive Party who gave the advice in Ibadan during a town hall meeting with hundreds of women and youths which was held at K.S Motel, Ibadan at the weekend, said Nigeria deserves peace.

While charging the mammoth crowd, the CBN ex-deputy governor between 2009 and 2014 said the crisis between the two Nigerian leaders was a wake-up call for all Nigerians to vote for a president who is well-equipped to lead the country.

Moghalu who said he worked for the United Nations for 17 years noted, “it is time we moved the country forward because other countries of the world are leaving Nigeria behind. There is time for generational shift.

“There are 80 million eligible voters and if all of them vote, nobody can rig the 2019 elections. It is when they don’t vote that rigging can be possible”.

“Nigerian politicians like to keep you poor so that they can buy your votes. If you collect their money, it is not going to solve your problems. These politicians cannot solve your problems,” he said.

He said if voted as president, he would ensure that there is equal representation of men and women noting that, he, as a youth, would make sure that youths hold good positions in the country
