I am not sure why I am not able to see the Group displayed on the List Associations tab (see attached screen shot). On the Edit screen the Group is displayed (see attached screen shot)

Seems quite odd. Is this CiviCRM 4.1? Perhaps you could upgrade and see if that helps?

Also maybe check with Firebug to see if the HTML is being rendered and hidden vs. not rendered at all?
