I have a profile form that is used for a 'call to action' - users fill in the form as a method of signing the petition/showing intent, etc.

The profile form adds the user to a Group, which is a mailing list. I want users to be able to opt out of the group mailing list as they fill in the 'call to action'.

There's a profile field available for 'No Bulk Emails (User Opt Out)' but I think that is a universal opt out of all bulk emails, not just the specified group mailing list of the profile form.

How can I achieve this?

Instead of using the Profile's "add to group" setting, you could include the "Group(s)" field in your profile and allow folks to opt-in to that mailing list (and other groups / lists if applicable).
