Osun APC Faction Reinstates Call For Party’s Restructuring
Factional Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Rasaq Salinsile, has disclosed that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and the Chairman of the IleriOluwa faction of the party, Prince Gboyega Famodun, cheaply delivered victory to the Peoples Democratic Party in the July 16 governorship election.
Salinsile who addressed a press conference on Wednesday in Osogbo, accused Oyetola and Famodun of deliberately weakening the Osun APC by wishing away grassroots mobilisers who have been delivering victory for the party since 2007.
He asked the national secretariat of the party to immediately restructure Osun APC, noting that the only way to bring back the winning strength of the party is to reorganise it before the 2023 general elections.
Salinsile absolved members of The Osun Progressives from the allegations that they worked against APC and mobilised voters for Sen. Ademola Adeleke, the Governor-elect.
While pledging their loyalty to the party hierarchy at the national level, Salinsile pledged their support for Senator Hammed Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the party in the forthcoming presidential election,
Salinsile who claimed that he voted for the APC candidate, Adegboyega Oyetola in the July 16 governorship election remarked that he won his Ward and local government for the party unlike Famodun.
He said Famodun’s inability to manage the party because of his selfish interest is responsible for the APC’s electoral misfortune.
